Himalayan view in Nepal, Nagarkot

in

From Kathmandu, Nagarkot is around 1 hour by car via a winding road. It’s a small town mainly consisting of hotels, at 1900 meters elevation offering panoramic views of the Himalayan range.

After a week in the bustling capital, it was refreshing to arrive into peace and nature. The accommodation was perfect with a stunning panorama from the terrace. Unfortunately, by afternoon the big mountains had already drawn in the clouds so we had to wait until the next morning to see the 7000-meter-high peaks.

Only clouds with a slightly peak-sight

We woke up at 5 a.m. to admire the view in the changing morning light. I couldn’t stay in the room for long, I had to step out to take in the full panorama. For at least two hours I just sat and marveled at the sight.

As the sun rose at first only the silhouette of the mountain range was visible. Then gradually, the large peaks were illuminated: from their opposite sides.

Mount Everest was visible too, even though it was 160 km away in a straight line.

The other snowy peaks, ranging from 6600 to 7000 meters, were “only” 60–70 km away.

These mountains are true giants, nature’s wonder: they shine around the space holding infinite power and nature’s energy.

Watch this cool video from the area with more professional shoots, worth it! 😉 : https://youtu.be/zmpHRMVBQDg?si=XySdkwBci4hMDHtj
